New Update For COVID-19 Travel Guidelines
We are delighted that the government have announced the removal of the mandatory second PCR test for fully vaccinated travellers, making it easier for all our holiday guests and owners entering the country. We can’t wait to welcome you soon!
Removal of mandatory second test for fully vaccinated travellers.
From 24th October 2021, fully vaccinated travellers with a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test result, no longer need to take a second PCR test or quarantine on arrival in Barbados.
You are still required to download the BIMSafe App and complete the travel form there. Then, simply take a standard PCR test within 3 days of your arrival and have your results & proof of vaccination ready for validation at the airport. You are then able to depart the airport and enjoy your holiday immediately!
Fully vaccinated travellers may be notified by health officials at Grantley Adams International Airport, that they have been selected for a randomised arrival Rapid Antigen test on entry. This replaces the mandatory second COVID-19 PCR test for all fully vaccinated travellers previously in place.
Fully vaccinated travellers selected for a randomised COVID-19 Rapid Antigen test on arrival must follow the following process.
- Show proof of a negative standard COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 3 days prior to arrival in Barbados, as outlined in the Barbados Travel Protocols;
- Take the Rapid Antigen arrival test as directed at the airport free of charge;
- Await the results of the Rapid Antigen Test (no quarantine required due to short turnaround time for results);
- Depart the airport using approved transportation;
Unvaccinated travellers will continue to adhere to the protocols outlined.
