Concierge Recommends...Hunte's Gardens
You don’t need to be a keen horticulturalist to appreciate the beauty and majesty of Anthony Hunte’s stunning public gardens.
Located at the centre of the island in Saint Joseph Parish, the gardens have been shaped and nurtured for the past ten years. Visitors can explore the verdant flora and fauna in the shadow of tall palms above, and relax on one of the chairs dotted throughout the gardens to listen to the hummingbirds.
The gardens’ unusual location – a rainforest sink hole – adds to the mysterious atmosphere amidst the lush, dense vegetation. Often Mr Hunte welcomes visitors to join him for a freshly prepared rum punch on his terrace (made with his own private rum which is available for purchase), where he enjoys discussing the creation of the gardens and his passion for the Bajan outdoors.
